ECU students alerted to two assaults near campus

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

ECU students were alerted to two assaults near campus early Saturday morning.

The first one happened around 12:45 a.m. near 4th and Student Street. According to the alert a female was assaulted, no clear description of the suspect was given.

A second assault happened around 2:40 a.m. on Trustee's Way, just north of Garrett Hall. A male was assaulted by four male suspects. The victim was cut on his face during the attack but was not transported to Vidant. During the incident one of the suspects pulled out what appeared to be two large knives and verbally threatened to cut a female who was nearby. The suspects drove away in a Range Rover which was last seen heading north on Jarvis Street.

Students are encouraged not to walk alone at night and to remain aware of their surroundings at all times. Any suspicious or criminal activity can be reported to ECU Police at 328-6787.
