They are screaming for ice cream in Lakeland

LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) -

The inaugural Florida Ice Cream Festival presented by Magnify Credit Union is Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Joker Marchant Stadium at 2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland.

National and local ice cream companies will be selling frozen treats.  Fred's Market Restaurant will be serving its famous cobbler and other desserts topped with Blue Bell Ice Cream's signature Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream.

In addition to ice cream, there will be a variety of things to do, see, and eat during this fun-filled day of family entertainment.  Guests can cheer on World Champion Eater Joey Chestnut in the World Ice Cream Eating Championship at 4:30 p.m.

Admission to the festival is $2 in advance or $3 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased at www.floridaicecreamfestival.org.  Ice cream and some activities are an additional charge. Proceeds benefit the Magnify Life Foundation and The Detroit Tigers Foundation of Florida.
