Thousands of kids gets their hands dirty with art

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Thousands of kids got their hands dirty with art today at the annual youth arts festival at East Carolina University.

The festival gave kids hands-on experience with different types of art.

Some of the art stations included, weaving, painting, and shirt making. The festival also gave kids the chance to explore instruments.

Event coordinator and instructor Dindy Reich says the activities expose kids to new experiences.

"Actually build things, make things, try things, be creative; so, we feel that we are giving them the opportunity that they don't normally have to branch out in a lot of different areas."

This is the ninth year ECU has hosted the arts festival.
