RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Jacksonville man has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize.

He's the fifth player in North Carolina to claim $1 million or more playing Powerball this year.

Gregory Wernli purchased the winning ticket Saturday at the WilcoHess at 6995 Western Boulevard.

The winning numbers were 4-7-8-29-39 for the white balls and 24 for the red Powerball.

The same Jacksonville store sold a $1 million-winning Powerball ticket just last year. That ticket expired after no winner stepped forward.

After taxes were withheld, Wernli received a check for $680,000.
