Prescribed burn taking place aboard Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -

The Camp Lejeune Forestry Division says they'll be conducting a prescribed burn on Monday.

The burn will take place in the "MD" and "GG" training areas. The "MD" training area is located east of US-17 and south of Verona Loop Road, and the "GG" training area is located south of NC-172 and east of Sneads Ferry Road adjacent to Freeman's Creek.

The burn is being coordinated with the District 4 office of the North Carolina Forest Service in New Bern.
