Police: Pit Bull attacks child in Greenville

Greenville Police say a 5-year-old child was attacked by his neighbor's dog.

It happened around 6 o'clock last night on Oak Bend Drive.

Police say the child was playing in the yard of a duplex when a neighbor's pit bull escaped.

The child was bit in the lower leg and was taken to Vidant Medical Center with puncture wounds.

Animal control is now investigating the case.
