An Army soldier was arrested and charged with murder in relation to a fatal hit-and-run in Fayetteville on April 6, according to Fayetteville police.

Edward William Hall, 35, was arrested today after a follower of Fayetteville Police Department's Nixle Alerts and Facebook Page reported that a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was at a local body repair shop.

Police say David Keller was hit around 4 a.m. while riding through the intersection of Morganton Road and Skibo Road on his 2002 Yamaha motorcycle. Keller was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

Police had been searching for a black Cadillac Escalade that was said to be involved in the accident.

Hall was charged with second degree murder and felonious hit-and-run.

He is an E-7 in the United States Army; assigned to the 50th Signal Battalion.
