Kids battling cancer get a chance to FLY!

Posted: Updated:

Kids battling cancer and other illnesses will soon get a chance to fly...literally!

"Free To Be Me" will take off on May 11th.

Kids will get to be a pilot for a day and ride in a real airplane. This year there will also be helicopter rides.

The event, started by Mike Roberson, is organized by local pilots. Riley's Army, Beau's Buddies, and Dream Factory are also partners.

Roberson says it's all about giving kids a day to have fun, forget about hospitals, spend time with family, and...just be kids!

The event is invitation only but if you know a child who would like to be involved, you can find more information here.
