Police identify robber headlocked by Papa John's employee

WINTERVILLE, N.C. -

The man that tried to rob a Papa John's restaurant with a BB gun is behind bars.

21-year-old Graham Rouse of Ayden was arrested Wednesday night.

He's charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun, and simple assault.

Rouse is accused of trying to rob the Papa John's on West Fire Tower Road, but employees turned the tables on him, placing him in a headlock until police could arrive on scene.

Rouse made a first appearance in Pitt County court Thursday morning.

Winterville Police say a worker stopped a would-be robber Wednesday night. 

It happened around 8:45 at the Papa John's on Firetower Road. 

Winterville Police say a store employee was able to put the robber in a headlock and subdue him.   Police say the robber had a BB gun.     

No one was injured and the suspect is in custody.
