GRIFTON, N.C. -

A Pitt County Bus Driver is being charged with failure to yield after driving a bus full of kids into a tractor trailer.

Crash reports show the driver is 64-year-old Lillian Carmon.

It happened Thursday afternoon in Grifton near the intersection of Hanrahan and St. Johns Road.

There were about 25 kids on board coming home from Grifton Elementary School.

Troopers say the bus pulled out a little too far and hit the big rig.

No one was seriously hurt.

The school put the kids on another bus for transport home.

The driver was charged with failure to yield and was placed on administrative leave. She also had to take a mandatory drug test.
