Lockdown lifted after shots fired at Elizabeth City State University

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -

A Lockdown has been lifted after someone shot a gun on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.

Our affiliate WTKR reports that shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday someone fired shots and the campus went into lockdown.

In a news release ECSU Campus Police said it happened behind a residence hall. Students were alerted and asked to return to stay inside their residence halls.

They lifted the lockdown just before 1 a.m. Friday.

There were no reports of injuries. Campus police are still investigating.
