Both victims and suspect identified in St. Pete houseboat murders

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) -

Detectives have identified 74-year-old Germana Morin as the second victim of yesterday morning's double homicide at the Loggerhead Marina located at 5821 32nd Way South. Authorities say Morin is the girlfriend of the other homicide victim 75-year-old John Joseph Travlos and resided with him on his houseboat called the Relax Inn.

Detectives also report that suspect, 40-year-old Raynaldo Figueroa-Sanabria, has been identified in the case. Authorities say Figueroa-Sanabria is currently in custody in Nash County, North Carolina.

Based on information relayed to North Carolina authorities by St. Petersburg detectives, Figueroa-Sanabria was stopped driving a 2004 Gold Ford Tarius rental car last night.

In additional to 1st degree murder warrants in the deaths of Travlos and Morin, Figueroa-Sanabria also had an outstanding warrant for trafficking in cocaine.

St. Petersburg Detectives will travel to North Carolina to conduct an interview with the Figueroa-Sanabria.

Saturday, St. Petersburg police identified Travlos, and at that time, an unidentified woman, onboard the Relax Inn.  At that point in the investigation, detectives did not believe the deaths were the result of a murder/suicide.

A massage therapist and an electrical worker, arrived for appointments around 11:00 a.m. and found the victims.

Peter Davis lives a few hundred yards from the murder scene.  He's worried about his safety.

"I think now that I'll even invest in a little bit more security to make sure that we're safe," Davis said.

Detectives have not released a cause of death yet, but a report says both victims died as the result of upper body trauma  The couple had been seen alive yesterday.  Detectives say they will release the woman's name later.  Investigators believe she is Travlos' girlfriend.

Paula Barrett says she would often see the pair riding around on a golf cart.  She would wave to them as she walked around the marina. The killings have her nervous.

"You wonder if you're safe yourself. Ya know, maybe it was a robbery because the boats so big and , I don't know. I can't imagine. You know it's so peaceful here," said Barrett.

Detectives say robbery may have been a possible motive.
