East Carolina scored two runs in the top of the ninth and Drew Reynolds sat down Tulane in order in the bottom of the frame helping the Pirates to a 4-2 Conference USA series clinching win Sunday afternoon at Greer Field inside Turchin Stadium.

With the game tied at two-all heading to the ninth, Luke Lowery blasted his third home run of the season with one out to left center giving ECU (17-19, 3-6) a 3-2 lead. The Pirates added an insurance run when Jack Reinheimer singled home Bryan Bass from third on a shot down the right field line. Bass, who extended his hit streak to nine games in the seventh, singled up the middle with two outs and took third on a wild pitch before crossing home.

Reynolds (3-1) notched his second win of the series working 1.2 scoreless frames in relief. The right-hander entered the game in the eighth with one out and a runner on second before Tulane (18-20, 5-7) loaded the bases on consecutive walks by Tucker Oakley and Bowen Wilson. But Reynolds got Richard Carthon to ground out to first to end the Waves threat.

ECU starter Ryan Williams went 5.2 innings allowing a pair of runs (both earned) on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts. Jake Harris relieved Williams surrendering one hit in 1.2 innings with three strikeouts.

Ian Gibaut (1-2) suffered the loss giving up both runs in the top of the ninth on three hits. David Napoli was solid in his start scattering four hits over eight innings where he allowed a pair of runs (both earned) and tied his career-high with eight strikeouts.

Chase McDonald staked ECU to a 2-0 lead in the second frame blasting a two-run homer down the left field line. Nick Thompson singled to left center and moved to second on Jay Cannon's sac bunt before coming around on McDonald's 13th career round tripper.

Tulane knotted the game at two-all in the bottom of the sixth thanks to four hits in the frame. Garrett Carnnizaro had a RBI single that plated Brandon Boudreaux, who led off the inning with a double to right center. Bowen Wilson's RBI single to left field scored Cannizaro with one out tying the game at two.

Bass and Thompson each collected two hits for the Pirates, who outhit the Wave 31-21 in the series.

The Pirates will be back at home on Tuesday, Apr. 16 when they play host to instate foe UNC Wilmington at 6 p.m. (ET).]
