Chris Padgett has been named Assistant City Manager for Greenville. He's been serving as Interim Assistant City Manager since October of 2012.

"Chris is a solid professional who understands what this City needs and how to help move our city forward," said City Manager Barbara Lipscomb. "We work very well together. His knowledge and experience are tremendous assets to our organization and community. He has proven himself to me as a trusted and competent administrator over the past five months, and I expect he will continue to do so for years to come."

Padgett takes over the position vacated by Thom Moton, who moved to the City Manager's position in Broken Arrow, OK.

Previously, Padgett was the Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Ayden. He's a graduate of East Carolina University with a Master of Public Administration. He has more than 14 years of public service.

Padgett's appointment starts Monday, April 15 with a base salary of $119,454.
