Greenville Police arrest man with 450 bags of heroin

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Greenville Police arrested a man they say was in possession of 450 bags of heroin.

Greenville Police IMPACT officers were investigating a suspicious rental car parked near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and W. 14th Street Tuesday afternoon. The officers identified the driver as 24-year-old Kevin Beamon.

Beamon, a known repeat offender from Fayetteville, has prior arrests for felony assault, drug trafficking and driving while license revoked.

An investigation by the officers found Beamon was in possession of the 450 bags of heroin.

He was arrested and is facing several drug charges including 2 counts of trafficking heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for the sale of drugs.

Beamon was jailed under a $300,000 secured bond.

Police say this investigation continues and additional arrests are possible.
