Pilot unhurt after plane lands upside down

SALISBURY, N.C. -

A plane made a hard landing, then flipped over at a Rowan County airport Wednesday morning.

The RV-9 aircraft with one person onboard flipped over and landed upside down on the side of the runway in Salisbury.

The pilot was able to vacate the cockpit on his own and Rowan County EMS tended to the pilot on the scene.

The FAA reports the pilot had only minor injuries. The pilot refused transport to the hospital.
