Durham Earth Day celebration

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham residents had a chance to learn how to "go green" at Durham's Earth Day celebration Sunday. 

Activities for all ages were available including the top five reasons to plant a tree, the buzz about bees, and recycling 101. Kids 12 and under enjoyed arts and crafts, face painting, science experiments and more at the Kid's Zone

WNCN partnered with Durham Parks and Recreation and Keep Durham Beautiful to put on the Earth Day celebration. 

WNCN Chief Meteorologist Wes Hohenstein emceed the event. 

The festival culminated with the Earth Day Parade and a musical performance by blues artist Cool John Ferguson.
