Deputies: 24 car break-ins in Kinston neighborhood

KINSTON, N.C. -

Lenoir County deputies are warning residents to lock their car doors, after dozens of cars were broken into overnight.

On Saturday, deputies say a total of 24 cars were broken into between 1 a.m. – 6 a.m.

Deputies say the majority of the cars were unlocked at the time.

This string of break-ins is not the first time this has happened in Kinston. Police are currently investigating a rash of break-ins over the last few weeks in the city.

Deputies and police urge residents to lock their car doors, don't leave valuables in plain view, and report any suspicious behavior.

Deputies and police do not have any suspects at this time.
