Robbery attempt at Fayetteville dollar store

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville Police are trying to find a man who fired a shot while trying to rob a dollar store.

Police say it happened shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday at the Family Dollar at 6511 Fisher Rd.

Police say the man pointed a gun at a clerk and when the clerk refused to open the cash register, he fired a shot. The bullet hit the clerk's shoe, but the clerk wasn't hurt.

The suspect ran away the shooting. He's described as man in his mid 20's, 5'8"- 5'10", wearing a blue jean jacket and a red bandana.
