Bethel to celebrate reopening of health clinic

Posted: Updated:
BETHEL, N.C. -

Thursday the town of Bethel will celebrate the reopening of the town health clinic.

It's happening at 3 p.m.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the recently closed clinic.

Last fall, ECU's Brody School of Medicine decided to close the Bethel clinic to save money.

But people in the area say, while closing it will certainly save money, it'll also likely cost lives.

A team from the Greenville Healthcare Center took over the building and the practice.

"I remember when Bethel was our thriving town. I remember when it was very busy in the downtown area so my hope is that this can rejuvenate or be a part of rejuvenating the town of Bethel so that more people will come here," said Lee Quinn, physician assistant.
