Divers locate drowning victim in Wayne Co. pond

FREMONT, N.C. -

Authorities in Wayne County have released the name of a man who drowned Sunday.

Otha Pollard Sr., 66, went fishing around 2 p.m. Sunday, according to family members.

When Pollard did not return home, family members went to the pond and found Pollard's boat and fishing gear in the water.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Dive Team arrived to the scene and searched the area by the boat. The dive team returned to the pond Monday morning where they later recovered Pollard's body around 10 a.m.
