Myrtle Beach man arrested after walking down road with explosive devices, police say

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - Myrtle Beach police arrested a man Monday night and found explosive devices on his person.

According to a press release, police noticed Mark Victor Powell, 34, of Myrtle Beach walking on 5th Avenue North near Chester Street and was detained.  He was wanted on a bench warrant, the report said.

When officers searched Powell they found "items on his person which was consistent with incendiary devices."  Officers placed the items on the ground, secured the area and called the Horry County Police Bomb Squad, the  report said.

Powell is in custody at the Myrtle Beach jail.  The case remains under investigation.
