There have been reports of funnel clouds being spotted in western North Carolina Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service says the funnel clouds were seen over central Rutherford County.
According to a statement, the rotation came with weak rain showers in the area.
But Storm Team 7 Chief Meteorologist says there isn't much to worry about. Forecasters say this type of funnel cloud rarely touches down, and the chances of damage are slight.
