North Carolina State University police issued a crime alert Wednesday morning to students after a female student reported being approached by a man near Daniels Hall.

The incident happened on the north side of Daniels Hall around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the victim, a man began walking behind and engaged in a conversation with her. The man then put his arm around the student and she immediately sprayed the suspect with pepper spray.

The student was able to get away and call police. Both N.C. State police and Raleigh police  are actively searching for the suspect, who is describes as a black male, 19-20 years old, about 6 feet 3 inches tall with a full beard. He was last seen carrying a black bag and wearing a red sweatshirt with a black "S" and blue jeans.

This is the second incident on N.C. State's campus in less than a week. On Thursday, a female student reported that she was approached by a man near the Free Expression Tunnel just after 4 a.m. and was sexually assaulted.
