Jacksonville man gets $1.9M bond for rape, burglary charges

A man is behind bars, accused of serveral rapes and burglaries in the Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Police and Naval Criminal Investigative Service said they happened between July 2011 and September of 2012. 

36-year-old Willie Abner Brown is charged with 6 counts of 1st Degree Rape, 3 counts of 1st Degree Burglary, and 1 count of 1st Degree Kidnapping among numerous other charges. His bond was set at $1,950,000.

"This successful investigation and subsequent arrest come as a direct result of collaborative efforts of JPD Detective Anthony Ramirez and NCIS Special Agent Joshua Lawson with assistance from the Onslow County Sheriff's Department." stated Public Safety Director Mike Yaniero.

"This effort is the epitome of seamless law enforcement and reflective of the outstanding teamwork that was displayed by all participants during this extremely complex investigation."  stated Joe Kennedy, Director of the NCIS Carolinas Field Office.

Both agencies said they've been investigating Brown's link to a number of crimes since his arrest on September 15, 2012 for 1st Degree Burglary and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
