TBI investigating two inmate deaths in Jonesborough

WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Just this week, two inmates who were housed in the Washington County, Tenn. Detention Center have died.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says Charles Frederick Young III, 35, Limestone, died Thursday morning after emergency crews transported him from the jail to a local hospital.

Deputies say Young was in jail on drug charges and for a charge of violation of probation. Investigators say no foul play was suspected in Young's death.

The Sheriff's Office tells News Channel 11 the TBI is now investigating the death.

Stewart Peppers, 22, Johnson City, died late Monday afternoon at the detention center, according to Sheriff Ed Graybeal. The TBI is also investigating his death.
