AVERY COUNTY, NC (WJHL) -

There is heavy flooding in Avery County, North Carolina causing road closures and power outages. 

The Avery County, North Carolina Sheriff's Department says that NC 184 in Banner Elk is closed from Dobbins Road to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. 

Also, Green Road, Powder Mill Road, Millen Hill Road, and Maltba Road.

Evacuations were made earlier this morning at Land Harbour and Buck Hill Campground where heavy flooding was reported and two power line polls fell down in the area.
