    A woman who owns several dogs and cats in Jonesborough faces multiple animal cruelty charges after an animal control officer says he found the animals living in deplorable conditions. Johnson City-Washington County Animal Control Officer Wayne Thomas caught it all on tape.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Longtime community figure Commissioner R. Wayne McConnell died Saturday at Bristol Select Specialty Hospital. He was 65.

McConnell, a Kingsport, TN native, served on Sullivan County Commission more than 25 years.

He retired from Meade Corporation and before his illness he served with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, Lynn Garden Community Caring, North Kingsport Community Center and the North Kingsport Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Dena McConnell, his son Darius McConnell and his daughter Madoma Green.

Visitation will be held from 5 -7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at the Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Oak Hill Memorial Park.
