Officials investigating early morning fire at Cameron Village restaurant

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Investigators in Raleigh are trying to determine what sparked an early morning fire at a restaurant in the Cameron Village shopping center.

A call came in at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday alerting authorities to a fire at a restaurant located at 427 Woodburn Road.

Property manager Lynne Worth told WNCN that the fire came from the kitchen at Sushi Gami, a restaurant that opened in October 2012.

Worth said the fire was discovered by a security guard doing nightly checks who saw some smoke coming from the restaurant.

It appears to be limited to the interior of that restaurant, though there may have been smoke in the Italian restaurant next door, she said.

There are no reports of any injuries. Half of the building was damaged in the fire, which has been ruled accidental.
