ASMO to add 200 new jobs in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

New jobs are on the way to Greenville.

Governor Pat McCrory, and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced Wednesday that ASMO North America will expand it's Pitt County facility.

The company is a global supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems, and components. They supply parts directly to Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, and BMW.

They are investing $50 million into its Greenville location, and plan to add 200 new jobs by the end of 2016.

Salaries will vary by position, but the average will be about $34,628.

The company is also working closely with schools like Pitt Community College to give future employees the job training skills they need to land the jobs.

The company currently employs more than 530 people.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, N.C. Community Colleges, Pitt County, Pitt County Development commission, Pitt County Committee of 100 and Greenville Utilities all played a part in project.
