HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -

The suspect in a Henderson County triple homicide is dead, a law enforcement officer said Wednesday.

Deputies were searching for 32-year-old Ralph Robert Warren III in connection with a shooting that occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a home on Piney Ridge Drive in Hendersonville.

An officer at the scene told the Hendersonville Times-News that "the threat has been neutralized."

"Four people lost their lives today, and one was the killer," the officer said.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said Warren died of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A neighbor who witnessed the shooting, 84-year-old Mae Franklin, said that a man pulled up to the home and fired several shots at three people who were in the yard.

"The people were out in the yard -- a man and his wife and their daughter -- and it was a sports car," Franklin told the Hendersonville Times-News. "He pulled up and got out and ‘bang, bang, bang.'"

She continued, "He said, ‘Do you want some more?' and he shot three or four more times."

All three shooting victims were pronounced dead. Their names have not been released.

CNN affiliate WLOS reports that Warren was previously in jail and was released just this Saturday.  Warren was scheduled to appear in court next month on charges of making harassing calls and communicating threats.
