GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Two of the best 3A tennis teams in the state finished their epic playoff matchup Wednesday. The fourth ranked team in the state (Chapel Hill) outlasted the eight ranked team (South Central) 5-4.

Weather stopped play on Tuesday with the sides all square. The top doubles squad from each team were on the court Wednesday, where the winner determined which team would move on.

Sheldon Roberts and Jacob Matthews (SC) were down 7-4, in the 10 game pro-set, coming into Wednesday but made a huge comeback. The pair went up 8-7 only to see the Chapel Hill doubles team of Bryan Zhang and Jared Weber win 10-8.

Although the Falcons are out of the team competition, they do have a few players still alive for individual and doubles state titles.
