DH Conley, South Central advance in 3A State Baseball Playoffs

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

DH Conley and South Central both advanced in the state baseball playoffs on Thursday night. Conley exploded for 10 runs in the 3rd inning and won by that same margin. South Central on the other hand was locked in a defensive battle, they won 3-0.

Davis Kirkpatrick was on the mound for Conley. The Vikings ace gave up 3 hits and had 10 strikeouts in the complete game win (5 innings). Conley beat Nash Central 10-0 in a game that ended early because of the mercy rule.

South Central threw Tucker Jacobs who also had a nice night. The Falcons beat Eastern Wayne 3-0.

Both teams will be back in action in round two of the playoffs on Tuesday.
