ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. -

Three men were charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a Roanoke Rapids man, the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said.

Kevin M. Ingram, 29, was sitting in a car with another man in the parking lot of a Marathon gas station off Highway 158 in Roanoke Rapids Saturday when they were robbed at gunpoint.

Ingram was shot in the head during the robbery. He is in the hospital in critical condition. 

Lamar Mallory, 16, of Roanoke Rapids, Jasmane T. Clements, 22, of Weldon, and Moncrinique T. Clements, 25, of Weldon, were arrested after an investigation and charged with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of marijuana.

Jasmane Clements and Mallory are being held under $250,000 bond.
