JONESBOROUGH, TN (WJHL) -

The Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office says a fugitive who's been on the run since 2011 is in custody.

U.S. Marshals arrested Brandon Saylor, 29, Wednesday evening around 7:00 p.m. at a home Whispering Hills Drive in Kingsport, TN.

When Saylor attempted to flee from a side door he was met by the US Marshals. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center in Jonesborough where he faces charges of aggravated burglary.

The U.S. Marshals says for more than two years Saylor used an alias to evade his capture.  He escaped from a Kentucky prison in March 2011, where he was serving a 17 year sentence.

His criminal history includes convictions for burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, and fleeing and evading police.

Saylor had outstanding warrants for a February 2013 home invasion out of Harlan County, KY where he allegedly stole firearms - and a January 2013 aggravated burglary out of Washington County, TN.

When the US Marshals Service in eastern KY asked for assistance in locating Saylor, leads were followed and an intensive man hunt was conducted in the east TN.

Just last month, Saylor was spotted in a mobile home park in Bean Station, TN. And he was recently featured in WJHL's Monday's Most Wanted segment on April 29.

Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal said "It's a privilege for us to be part of the Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force and to get this young man in jail who committed an $18,000 burglary including stealing guns. I know the public in Washington County was concerned, and with him being in jail there are families here who can feel safer today. "

This investigation was a joint effort with the United States Marshals Service's and the Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force.

The task force includes the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Kingsport Police Department, Bean Station Police Department, Grainger County Sheriff's Office, Knox County Sheriff's Office, Blount County Sheriff's Department and Sevier County Sheriff's Department.
