Marching for babies takes over uptown Greenville

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Our state ranks 45th in the number of babies born prematurely. To help combat those numbers, hundreds of people pounded the pavement, at the annual March of Dimes' march for babies' event in Greenville.

The event features several activities, including a 5-k run. Even young kids tested out their running skills, all to raise money for the March of Dimes. An organization focused on preventing babies born prematurely.

"We are for health babies. We had tons of people show up today, regardless of the weather. We thank everybody and we are so happy to have held this event," said event organizer Emily Jarvis

The organization, also works to promote and improve the health of babies.

This is March of Dimes largest annual fundraiser.
