3 injured in Franklin St. crash in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Franklin Street was closed and three people were injured early Sunday morning after two vehicles had a head-on collision at 12:15 a.m.

Three people were trapped in one of the vehicles and the Chapel Hill Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free them. The three were transported to the hospital but the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Franklin Street was closed from Park Place to Boundary Street for about an hour because of the accident. The two vehicles were towed and Franklin Street re-opened at 1:13 am.

One driver has been cited with driving left of the center line.
