UPDATE: Buena Vista Police arrest man in mother-in-law's death

Buena Vista Police revealed new information Friday morning, about a death investigation that began on Thursday.

Investigators say around 12:26 p.m., 33-year-old Michael J. O'Hare, his wife, and mother-in-law 56-year-old Susan Smith Khoshpasand got into a fight.  That fight ended with the death of Khoshpasand, and police believe O'Hare caused her death.

Police add that O'Hare's wife was also hurt during the fight, and taken to Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington for treatment.  She has since been released.

Investigators charged O'Hare with first degree murder, and malicious wounding.  He has also been served with a protective order to stay away from his wife.

O'Hare is being held without bond at the Rockbridge Regional Jail.

The Buena Vista Police Department is investigating a woman who was found dead in a home on Thursday.

According to Lt. Chittum, a man has been taken into custody, and the case is still under investigation.

No additional information will be released by police until Friday.

Lt. Chittum would not comment on the names of the two people involved, how the woman died, or the relation of the man taken into custody to the woman found dead.
