Conley forces deciding 3rd game in state baseball finals

GREENSBORO, N.C. -

 Davis Kirkpatrick led gutsy DH Conley to a 7-6 win over Weddington on Saturday afternoon forcing a third and deciding game in the State 3A Baseball Championship series.

   Tonight's third and deciding game is at 8pm in Greensboro at NewBridge Bank Park.

               Conley actuall had big leads in the game, jumping in front 4-0 in the first inning and leading 6-0 at one point before the Warriors fought back, getting three in the fifth and one more in the sixth.

            Weddington battled to the end, loading the bases in the seventh and then getting a double by Alex Bostic that plated two. But the Vikings gunned down Daniel Calabretta trying to score from first on Bostic's bases-loaded double, center fielder Tyler Garrett to shortstop Thompason Brown to catcher Nick Whedbee.

                      Weddington is now 23-11 overall while Conley is 28-4.
