Three injured in Edenton early morning shooting

Police are asking the public's assistance in a shooting that injured three people.

It happened around 12:11 a.m. Sunday.  That's when officers were called to the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Cox Avenue.

Once on the scene, they found a large crowd of people around three victims.  26-Year-old Kenyatta Stevenson of Tyner was shot in the arm and abdomen.  She was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where she's in stable condition.

28-Year-old Rayshawn White of Edenton was taken to Vidant Hospital in Edenton for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.  He's listed in serious condition.

Finally, 27-year-old Thomas White Jr. of Edenton has been treated and released from Vidant Hospital in Edenton for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators with the Edenton Police Department and the NC State Bureau of Investigation are seeking assistance and information from the witnesses to this crime and from anyone who may have information about this crime.
