It's "Pomp and Circumstance" time for Pitt County High School Seniors

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

It's the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. Whether it was just a few years ago, or 50 years ago, we all remember our high school graduation.

9 on your Side was there to celebrate with thousands of Pitt County High School seniors on their big day.

Saturday marked the second day of Pitt County high school graduations.

More than a thousand seniors gathered in East Carolina University's Minges Coliseum to turn their high school tassels.

J. H. Rose students kicked off the day bright and early with the first ceremony of the day. Student speakers entertained the crowd by quoting inspirational and funny lyrics from popular hip-hop and pop artist.

The Ayden-Grifton Chargers were the second of four graduations held at Minges Coliseum on Saturday.

Seniors say sharing this milestone with family and friends makes the day even more memorable.

"It just feels great for everybody to come out and support me and my charger family and I'm really excited," graduating senior Ashley Hardy.

"It's an exciting feeling. You're adrenaline going because everybody, your friends, your family, everybody just stuck together," said graduating senior Arnez Wallace.

Making the day even more memorable for senior Dannie Webb, Saturday was also his eighteenth birthday.
