GREENVILLE, N.C. -

A Greenville man who strangled a pit bull puppy to death earlier this year is back in jail facing new charges.

Greenville Police arrested 22-yr.-old Demetrius Crumble around 5:30 Sunday.

They charged him with felony common law robbery, resisting an officer, and felony parole violation.

Crumble is serving a 24-month supervised probation for pleading guilty to felony cruelty to animals.

Back in February, neighbors told 9 On Your Side Crumble and two other men beat and choked a puppy with telephone cords.

Crumble is in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $103,500 bond.
