New Jersey town bans saggy pants

Posted: Updated:

Saggy pants- it's a scene that leaves many people disturbed and frustrated; one guy even wrote a song about it.  Remember General Larry Platt's song that went something like this, "Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground."  Platt performed the song on American Idol a few years ago.  Turns out he was singing about a problem one New Jersey shore town is about tackle.

Officials in Wildwood, NJ passed a new law banning saggy pants.  They passed the law Wednesday.  Authorities will now fine people up to $200 for ‘looking like a fool with their pants on the ground.'

If your pants drop three inches below the waist, exposing skin or underwear, you're busted.  The mayor says no one should have to look at people's rear ends while hanging out on the boardwalk.
