Cutter Creek ready for NGA event Thursday

Posted: Updated:

Clayton Rask opened with a 6-under 66 on Thursday and leads after the first round of the 3rd annual Cutter Creek Classic.

The NGA Tour is making its annual stop in Snow Hill this week.

Rask's 66 left him one shot ahead of Ryan Gildersleeve, Adam Hogue, Brent Witcher and Mark Side.

Raks is currently third on the NHA Tour's money list.

The NGA heads from Windsor to Snow Hill on Thursday for the 2013 Cutter Creek Classic.

The tournament features some of the best professionals at this level and is a week that the community looks forward to all year long.

Players who have won on the PGA Tour and some that are even played in the US Open last week are expected to be at the event.

This year's purse will be around $150,000 and some of the other big names in the event might surprise you.

Lucas Black, the movie star from Friday Night Lights and Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift among others, will be in the field just adding to the excitement for this event.

"We're ready for it," said Director of Golf Burt Williams. "This will be the third year that the tour returns here. Our golf course is in great shape. The community here gets their arms around this event. They love to see these young guys come out and play."
