Saturday marked the grand opening of the Beaufort Farmer's Market.
To celebrate the opening the Market featured a live band.
Market Manager Erica Bondy says the market is about connecting local farmers with the community.
"We wanted a new marketplace for people. Smaller farms who are growing very locally to be able to sell their goods and connect one on one with customer to farmer," said Bondy.
Bondy says though the goal is to create a venue for local food producers, the market welcomes all local vendors, artists, and crafters.
Owner of the Underground Farms, Katherine Elkins said they started with four farms selling at the market and now there are seven farms.
The Beaufort Farmer's Market is open every Saturday from 9a.m. - 12p.m., and runs through November.
