The good thing about a baker's mistake is that you can eat all of the evidence.
Adorably proud mom Carol Gambrel wanted to celebrate her daughter Laura's college graduation, so she ordered a "face cake" and asked if they'd draw "a little cap" on Laura's head.
But the baker heard the wrong consonant, and when Gambrel opened the cake, she found a hand-drawn cat -- rather than a "cap" -- perched atop her daughter's head.
"When I went to pick it up at the store, I could not stop laughing," the Indiana mother said. "I told them not to scrape it off."
The mistake happens to play off a popular meme called "Cat Bearding," where people take their cats and drape them around their chin like a beard and post a photo on line.
"It just went viral from there," Gambrel said. "It's been picked up all over, and we've been having so much fun with it.
"The comments the people wrote on the websites have been pretty funny, so it's been fun for us. It's been more of a graduation celebration than she ever expected."
