Chocowinity man arrested two months after stealing firearms, debit card

BEAUFORT, N.C. -

Beaufort County Deputies have arrested a man two months after he was suspected of stealing firearms and a debit card in Chocowinity.

On April 12, 2013 the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office reported to a theft of two firearms and a debit card from a residence in Chocowinity. As a result of the investigation a warrant was issued charging 35-year-old Linwood Michael McRoy Jr of Chocowinity with Identity theft among other Charges.

McCroy fled on foot into a wooded area from Deputies attempting to arrest him on May 22nd in Chocowinity. McRoy was then arrested by the Tarboro Police Department on June 15th after they received a tip that McRoy was at a residence in Tarboro. McRoy was transported to the Edgecombe County Jail and held on a $17,500 secured bond.
