Northeast Elementary School in Beaufort County has named a new principal.

Mark Clinkscales, who has been with Beaufort County Schools since 2007 and has served as assistant principal of Chocowinity Middle School since July 2009 is now the principal at Northeast Elementary School.

"Mark brings a great deal of enthusiasm and drive to this position," said Dr. Don Phipps, superintendent of Beaufort County Schools. "We are very excited to see where he will help lead the students and staff of Northeast Elementary School."

Clinkscales will join Crystal Dixon, the current assistant principal.

Other administration changes for the 2013-2014 school year include Melissa Dana, the current principal of S.W. Snowden Elementary School, moving to Eastern Elementary School in Washington. Debra Kinsey, now at Eastern Elementary School, will become the principal at S.W. Snowden Elementary School in Aurora on July 1.

The resignation of Rick Anderson, principal of Southside High School, will be effective on June 28. The process to fill that position will begin soon.
