Pinehurst No. 2 getting ready for a busy 2014 summer

Posted: Updated:
PINEHURST, N.C. -
Pinehurst No. 2 is the place to be. One of world's greatest courses is going back to its original form to do something no other course has done.

A restoration of Pinehurst No. 2 has taken root. Taking this course back to its old form is all in preparation for the course to host the men's and women's U.S. Open in the summer of 2014.

"We're getting a double whammy on interest," said President and Chief Operating Officer Don Padgett.  "We're starting to set record settings for bookings. Just last week, we did more than we've ever done."

No course has ever hosted the men's and women's U.S. Open in back-to-back weeks.
