The Appalachian Fair has been an annual tradition in our region for more than 85 years, and each year organizers try to make the fair bigger and better.
Thursday morning, organizers released details about this year's fair, with the James H. Drew midway the center attraction as always at the fair.
The Fairest of the Fair contest, the Youth Talent contest, and the Battle of the Bands will highlight the offerings on the Museum Stage.
Stars from country music, contemporary Christian, and bluegrass will headline the entertainment on the main stage through out the week long run of the fair.
According to fair Manager Phil Booher, "Well I just think people like to see something different all the time you know...and a lot of people don't like one thing but they like something else and we try to be diversified and meet every body's needs that we can.
Entertainment at the Appalachian Fair kicks of with country star Easton Corbin on Monday August 19th.
